Veneers

What makes them so good?

The colour match to natural teeth is fantastic -in the right situation it is possible for you to have them and no one knows you have had work done

More tooth is saved – very healthy for the tooth

Who are veneers suitable for?

Smile rejuvenation – smiles which have deteriorated through being worn, chipped or discoloured.

They are ideal where the tooth is slightly misaligned, a different colour to the other teeth or multiple different colours are present.

Veneers are often preferred to placing crowns for the reason that much more of the tooth is allowed to remain after preparation. Generally, when more tooth is left behind the better for the lifespan of that tooth.

Cosmetically, veneers do the same job as a crown however, in certain situations where strength is required, a crown can still be recommended.

How do they work?

Veneers are an eggshell thick porcelain facing, cemented to the front of the tooth.

They generally last 12 – 15 years before requiring replacement. But they can last longer.
